Okāsan and Me Inc.

Okāsan and Me is a non-profit 501(c)3 education corporation under California State Law, offering bilingual education in English and Japanese. Our students range from 2-62, including children and their parents. Okāsan means 'mother' in Japanese; however, 50% of our parent participants are fathers. We introduce different language and cultures to students, as learning them through music, dance, and art is the bigenning of world peace.

Our unique curriculum includes Japanese American history, the Peruvian Japanese incarceration, and a variety of history projects. We also introduce traditional Japanese foods and instruments, such as the Shamisen, to our students. Under our pedagogy, your child's favorite toy or stuffed animal magically becomes bilingual!
