Okasan and Me offers bilingual education in English and Japanese from ages 2-62 years old. Okasan means 'mother' in Japanese. However, 50% of our parents are fathers. Japanese American history is included in this unique curriculum. Your child's favorite toys, colors, foods and cartoons are incorporated throughout the program. The original educational materials (CD/Book) provide the guidelines for the program. Computer Interactive Games for children and their parents. Available by order form on this website.
Interactive computer games are in 8 different languages: Japanese, Mandarin, Hawaiian, Gujarati and other languages.

Stanford University: Learn all 46 letters of the Japanese alpha by song and dance in just 15 minutes. Our 2 year old class can do it and you can too!
As part of Speech/Debate Mock Trials, children 8 years old and up present arguments before Santa Clara County Superior Court Judges and the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court.
Linguistic Blend After School Language Program (
Gifted Children Empirical studies show that studying languages exercises the brain, improves the imagination, creativity and logical reasoning abilities.
Foreign languages are taught such as French, Japanese, Mandarin, Hawaiian, Spanish,
and Swedish. Children are taught how languages and cultures of the world blend in our program Linguistic Blend. Upper grades are taught to copyright and create their own computer interactive games for learning languages.
Speech and Debate Public Speaking, Diplomatic Speaking, Law and Order,
Mock Trials and Voice Projection Exercises begin at the Elementary School age
level. Lessons are taught in a non-competitive and fun atmosphere for children. Facilitators are members of the State Forensic Championship Team and the National Forensic Championship Team.
KAMISHIBAI Japanese story time at the Children's Discovery Museum.
This special kamishibai series of Japanese legendary tales is done in collaboration with Museum.
Kid Entreprenuers a special program for the profoundly gifted children. Patents, Trademarks, Copyright and incorporation steps and guidelines to forming your
very own corporation. Using their own imagination children will patent and
copyright their very own creations. Open to all grade levels. Robotics is faciliated by World Championship Team Members.

Okasan and Me Inc. provides a "unique and creative" multi-lingual language program for children and adults. Our corporation also promotes ethnic musicians and cultural artists. Herb Ohta Jr., internationally famous ukulele composer appears on our CD and DVD educational products. Other well known musicians include: VAIHI and Nelson Lee of Bamboo Bell.
Shamisen is a 3-stringed traditional Japanese instrument. There are different genres of the shamisen that are taught: tanzao shamisen, shamisen jazz, rock and pop.
